The Maine Wabanaki-State Child Welfare Truth and Reconciliation Commission

TRUTH & RECONCILIATION COMMISSION

Next Wednesday, The Maine Wabanaki-State Child Welfare Truth and Reconciliation Ccommission will begin collecting testimony in a series of hearings. The first takes place at the Passamaquoddy Reservation at Pleasant Point next Wednesday, November 20. Hearings will take place around the state over the next year to collect information from native people and state workers who were involved in the child welfare system over several generations. On 207, we'll talk with TRC Commissioner Carol Wishcamper and TRC Coordinator Esther Attean about the process and the healing it seeks to promote.
