May 8, 2013

Posted on behalf of June Dorn, Children’s Bureau

The Children’s Bureau would like to announce the creation of a new National Resource Center, which is the successor to the National Resource Center for Recruitment and Retention of Foster and Adoptive parents at AdoptsUSKids. The change of the center’s name to the National Resource Center for Diligent Recruitment (NRCDR) at AdoptUSKids brings with it an important change to their charge.  The goal of the NRCDR is to help child welfare systems develop and implement comprehensive Diligent Recruitment plans (DR) in order to achieve improved outcomes, including permanency and placement stability for children in foster care. The NRCDR will help states and tribes as they ensure that their multi-faceted DR plans address multiple key factors in conducting Diligent Recruitment and incorporate specific strategies to meet all of the systemic elements that the Children’s Bureau requires states to address in their DR plans. The NRCDR provides information and training and technical assistance to States in the development and implementation of DR plans in order to implement substantive and measurable DR plans.  To contact the NRCDR please call 303-726-0198 or visit us online at http://adoptuskids.org/nrc-recruitment
